MeetStadium started because nothing on the web covered stadiums the way I wanted to read about them. Capacity figures. A parking map. A Wikipedia entry with the year it opened. Nobody was walking you through the structural story, the why of the roof, the trade-offs the architect made, or the transit options that actually work on a matchday.
I'm an engineer, so my first instinct was to build it the way I'd build anything else: primary sources, verified numbers, no filler.
The next phase is fans. People who've been there, who sat in a specific section and know which gate actually moves, who know which bar near the stadium doesn't rip you off. Send photos, tips, and the stuff the official site won't tell you. Contributors get credited, and I'm working out a proper way to reward them as the site grows.

Engineer, Montrealer, and the person behind every guide on this site. Not a sportswriter. A structural engineer who got obsessed with stadiums the way other people get obsessed with old cars. I grew up on the Montreal Olympic Stadium, which is a weird place to fall in love with: over-engineered, expensive, never quite finished. But walking through it as a kid is what started this. I played soccer, American football, and hockey long enough to understand what a venue feels like from ground level, and I've spent the years since looking at stadiums from every other angle I can find.
A close friend of mine worked on Lusail Stadium for the 2022 World Cup, and the most useful conversations I've had about stadiums were his: what actually happens during construction, the schedule slips, the fabrication problems, the parts nobody writes about. I'll have similar access as the 2034 Saudi Arabia venues move from renderings to steel, and that reporting ends up here first.
For now, I write every page myself (okay, fine: AI helps with the first draft, but I verify every fact, cut the fluff, and own every claim that ships). Facts verified, transit checked, sources cited.
